I knew what I was feeling before I started writing the narrative poem that accompanies the video below.

I captured these clips while sitting next to the person it’s written about, and having her there made it easier to turn those feelings into words. I recorded the voiceover in our apartment while the dinner I made for us baked in the oven.

Usually, when I’m creating, I’m alone. This was new territory. Sharing the process with someone instead of reflecting on it afterward changed everything, and I loved how it turned out.

There’s something about certain days that feel special for no obvious reason. The way they feel, the way they look, even the way they taste. Ordinary moments become extraordinary…

I tried to capture that feeling in this video.
