(Newcleus – Jam On It)

I…in a good way, blame my parents for my love of rhythm, hip-hop, and music in general. I remember long drives as a kid (probably to get me fall asleep). But I feel it helped me understand the rhythm in music and songs like this made me appreciate anything I hear…to this day.

This song always reminds me of breakin’ and the breakdancing culture of the 80s that my parents were raised from. I’m quite sure many people in my life have stories about this never ending love of breakdancing & this style of music. I know a lot of the people I grew up with can understand the importance of this songs style in our current lives.

Music like this is timeless and it still gets me moving, released in 1984 I feel it’s a single that helped shape the genre from the day of release til now. It’s Saturday…listen to the track and retro to the breakdance culture of the 1980s.
